A Manic Street Preachers Fansite

Welcome to The Manics, a fansite dedicated to Welsh rockers, the Manic Street Preachers.

The Manics Biography

Here follows a short biography of the Manics! The Manics are arguably the most important Welsh rock band of the last 20 years. Formed in 1986, they found success in the early 90s with their debut album, a double entitled Generation Terrorists. With their punk ethos and intelligent, notably political lyrics, they soon built up a dedicated fanbase. Reviews of follow-up album Gold Against The Soul were mixed yet the album sold well. Into that difficult third-album territory, The Holy Bible was critically acclaimed but this time round sales were rather poor. These days however, it is looked upon as a bit of a classic and features in many "Top album" lists, a definite fan favourite.

Following The Holy Bible in 1995, the Manics suffered a major blow when guitarist and main lyricist Richey James Edwards went missing. The band decided to carry on and released Everything Must Go which met with great commercial success.
